Task 2

CONTEXT

Taylor's Design School hosted an event showcasing pass students' work from undergraduate courses under the school (Creative Media, Fashion Design Technology and Interactive Spatial Design). Other than the showcase, there were a few other events like the XR lab experience, and a mural competition worth Rm2000 in prize. We were encouraged to join so me and my friends who were interested decided to form a group of 8 to join the Mural Competition.

PREPARATION

The theme was 'Unity through Diversity'. After a discussion we decided to go for a fantasy theme, portraying the branch, flower, and leaf which will form a tree (unity). We wanted to show that despite these  diversity, it is what unites us as one. Below are some sketches we did of the characters we'll be using for our 3 subject matter:

Later on, we made a shared canvas on Magma to lay out all our composition ideas. We then decide on a composition we like the most.

FINAL OUTCOME

REFLECTION

We barely and any time to prepare but it was an exhilarating experience, From the ideation to the final outcome... I'm glad I was able to do this with my team. We are proud of it, and I was genuinely happy at the fact we actually finished it on time and even got an honorable mention. Overall, It was a really fun and rewarding time.
