Idea Development


Biography:

My name is Kai Xuan, but some call me Charlotte too. Your average Malaysian girl who’s still going strong after 17 years. I enjoy being carefree and spend most of the time hanging out with friends, family or entertainment. Despite having experience with college life in foundation,  degree is a whole other level! Then again, I hope to survive and thrive, just like I have done before.

What is your passion?
I have many hobbies but I’ve always been a fan of all forms of storytelling, such as  books, games, shows and even art. However, when I’m not consuming them, telling my own stories through media is my passion.

What motivates you to achieve your dream?
My surroundings, especially my pets, family, friends and media motivates me to create my own stories. Growing up, it was always my dream to show the world my own stories, just like the authors I admire.

SUMMARY
How do you want to visualize your dream into an artwork?
Many of the stories I love are neo-victorian styled works, so I want to show it by combining the elements from those stories. 



Statement about my work

I want to show my interest and passion in this poster. Many of the stories I love are fantasy and neo-victorian styled works, so I want to show it by combining the elements from those stories.

What is the concept behind it?
The poster shows my hyperfixation of my favorite media. I want to show my wild thoughts and imagination when I’m alone. For example I’m in one of the victorian shows I love with my cats and elements from other shows floating round.

What is the message you want people to understand it?
Love what you love and go wild with your imagination, no one will know, so just have fun before facing reality.

What is your motto/ quote?
This is me. (No matter what we love, it is still us)

Sketch Progress:



My first thumbnail sketch is a combination of my references. With a portrait of me at the center, and my favorite things around the photo frame.

Feedback

Sketch good to go, and can proceed, recommended to use as many of my own taken photos rather than google images. Reduce the elements if possible as it will make things difficult for myself when animating.
