Idea Development

SUMMARY

Many of the stories I love are neo-victorian styled works.

I want to show my interest and passion in this poster. Many of the stories I love are fantasy and neo-victorian styled works, so I want to show it by combining the elements from those stories.

After Mr. Fauzi's feedback from Week 11, I reduced the elements to only the important ones. And as well prioritized the objects I can take photographs of myself.

Photo taking

Using my sketch as referece, I started to take photographs of the subjects I need. I used old photos as well for some to show both new and old aspects of "me".

Progress

I started by placing the images I have on the picture so I can replace them later or use it as is.

I used the selection brush to quickly delete backgrounds that are obstructing the other images. After moving around, I decided on a general layout using rule of thirds.

After removing the white backgrounds on the frame, I realized the cloud picture looks a lot more interesting and gives texture.

I then cleaned up the background. Added a background behind my portrait for more focus with a darker sky. I also added pictures of my hyacinth.

Afterwords, I started adjusting the colours using, hue, saturation and contrast. This made the whole image look more cohesive.

I typed in a quote referencing my reference, and also used the eraser to give the text and paper more wear and tear.

I then added paper texture using overlay, to pull everything together
