Week 04: Briefing
✦ Mr Martin briefed us on the grp shooting project
✦ I was in group 1.
✦ Our first task is splitting up our roles.
I wanted to be the boom operator but since I was one of the only
ones fluent in both Chinese and English, everyone decided it was
better if I'm the producer instead.

Week 05: Practice
Mr. martin briefed us on how the equipment worked, and gave us
a shooting practice to get used to working as a team. We
definitely have a language barrier issue, as over half were
speaking in Chinese most of the time, causing English speakers
unable to keep up. I had to keep translating in between to make
sure everyone is keeping up.
We were quite chaotic but I'm glad some of them were eager to help
each other. I will have to make sure the arguments diminish during
the actual filming.
I decided to make a google docs to compile everything and make
sure everyone is on the same page.
Week 06: Shooting
In week 6, we began our shooting during tutorial and
practical classes. We followed the schedule prepared by our
assistant directors, Avery and Dhina.
We were also given some guidance from Mr.Martin while
preparing the equipment. The filming process was chaotic due
to more than half of the group speaking in Chinese. The non
Chinese speakers had trouble keeping up and I was getting
overwhelmed with translating.
We should have made it clear to the director and main actors to
speak in English even if they struggle.

After shooting, we compiled all the audio and videos and chose
the most suitable ones. We did not have much takes due to time
constraints and director doing only 1 take due to
uncooperative actor. I wish we had more time to work as a
team.
But overall I'm glad we finished the filming despite the
struggles and it came out quite well.
Editing
After filming, we were instructed to edit the footage and
synchronize the audio to the footages. It was also
recommended to edit in a trailer style and not to follow
the original sequence.
Week 7: Colour Correction VS Colour Grading

Practical Exercise: Lalin
Mr Martin explained about colour correction and
grading, then did a demonstration in class. We then
tested it out on our 35 seconds Lalin clip from our
previous exercise (This).
